    Course content *****
Catherine, who runs the course is an inspirational teacher. The term was spent experimenting with line and colour, she took mixed media as a starting point and made sure that we had a go at everything, always stretching us to experiment with techniques, pointing out how the big name artists handled the materials, taking us out for sketching and to galleries. Sometimes you just want someone to say it's OK to be free with getting ideas down, and then seeing where that leads you. We all look forward to the sessions, especially Catherine's enthusiasm, which is infectious, and her very liberal approach to art. I know that the narrow preconceptions of what I thought I wanted to do, have been widened out by seeing how much fun it is to abandon myself to the process of producing artwork. I would recommend this course. It's great.
    Student facilities ****
The room at the centre is a light, airy classroom. There is an art cupboard full of materials, easles and paper. There is no chance of displaying work from week to week, but it can be stored safely.
    Social life ****
The class is a joy to attend, the classes are small and friendly. The mix in the daytime is essentially people who can be off on that day, so a wide age range and men and women, though usually more women. There is a cafeteria and we go for trips out as part of the course.

    Course content *****
A short intensive course which enabled one to acquire the information needed to pass the exam. The trainer was excellent with a wide knowledge of the field. Good for anyone who wants to improve their safety and safety of their colleagues in the workplace.
    Student facilities ***
Good handouts were provided. Limited IT resources and library. Classroom was adequately furnished but could have done with brightening up.
    Social life ****
No place to socialise, but a small place to study. Many shops nearby. More women on the course than men but I didn't find this an issue.
