- Hi there, Im writing this just for fellow students. I was confused before i joined this college and course, but now i am happy with the course. My English was not so good but the tutors suggested I studied English in the same college. I did not pay anything as Cavendish gives english support classes for free! we have IELTS classes, so now I am fairly fluent in English and I can follow my course of study.

- The level 2 course builds on the basics covered in level 1 and is a very helpful next step. It covers lots of ground from range planning to mark downs, wholesaling to importing. Our lecturer, Be, was enthusiastic and inspiring and provided a lot of real-life examples from her own experience and from the trade press. This gives an understanding of how the theory being learned actually works in the industry. Well worth it!

- the teaching material is relevant to many aspects of the food industry and module choices further on in the course gives you the opportunity to choose your direction. placement opportunities are excellent, in the UK and abroad. the pace of the course does however get more challenging and expecially the final year, but that is to be expected? before starting the course it is handy to have business studies A level (but not essential as I didnt), a good grounded understanding of food in the areas of cooking skills and basic food knowledge, their physical make up, some nutrition knowledge and food safety, and some idea of consumers and the food industry. some teachers are more inspiring than others and help should be taken advantage of! it wont come to you you have to go and get it. the course offers a wide range of modules which can be applied to other industries and i liked that felxibility.

- hallam is very modern with its facilities and the learning centre and IT facilities are top class and always being updated. the kitchens are very good also amongst other practical equipment.

- there were all girls on this course apart from 2 guys, so not evenly mixed. group work can be a chore...some people are preferable to others. uni is not a fashion show or a popularity contest though, some people forget that! the class sizes are reasonable and there are places to socialise and many places in sheffield to go out.

- You don't need to be a computer or e-commerce expert to join this MSc. But if you don't know anything you have to work hard and get things quite fast - for me it was challenging and exciting times. Most of my lecturers brought enthusiasm and new knowledge in the classroom. The lecturers are also very accessible and it's easy to chat with them at any time.

- 24h computer facilities in JKCC is the best a student can get! Very modern classrooms with computer and projectors in all of them and different sizes according to the number of students.

- My classmates were from different backgrounds and from five different countries. It was a quite small group (8-10 students) but we used to help each other and drink a few pints together. I still have contact with a few and I look forward to meeting them again. I was also a founder member of the Latin American association.

- The teaching is relevent to the course. The teacher was very inspiring and friendly and very knowledgable.

- The classrooms were good and medium sized. The classes are of a manageable size. They were not crowded. The IT facilities are adequate, and they meet the needs of the students.

- Every time I have a lecture i look forward to going to class. There is a good balance of students and a good mix of men and women. The classes are small and one is able to approach the tutors for help. There is a good atmosphere for learning.
